America is Under a Snack Attack

by Jessica Azoulay

If you’re like me, you’ve been told over and over that Americans are overweight  – we know the facts…but why is that so?

For years, we have all been told to cut down our serving sizes and reduce caloric intake (not to mention drink all that water)…but obesity experts are now focusing in on snacking as the primary obesity culprit.  Yes, grazing or snacking occasions are more frequent now. In fact, according to a recent study by Barry Popkin, Ph.D. and Kiyah Duffey, Americans are now consuming 5 snacks and meals per day compared to 4 about 30 years ago.
